First Rise Queen

It looks like my prediction was completely wrong! Reports state that RENA came into the fight in possibly the best shape of her fighting career. Perhaps the upset loss this year and the knockdown in the exhibition with Kamimura have re-motivated her.

The fight was a back and forth affair, with Kamimura trying to land her power left hook but the real success of the night was RENA's use of the front kick. She was able to use the front kick to keep Kamimura out of punching range and it also frustrated the younger Kamimura who got reckless with her strikes at times.

The official score was 48-46, 47-46, 46-45 for RENA after five rounds. It is worth noting that RENA was deducted 1 point for clinching while Kamimura was deducted 2 points for clinching going to show how close the affair actually was.

One can only hope that RENA remains motivated in the sport and continues to put on awesome fights like she did tonight. Also, let's hope that Kamimura learns from her loss and comes back even stronger than before. She is still young and I look forward to her future matches.

Congratulations to RENA on an excellent fight

If I can find the fight video or at least pictures I will add them to this post
